The Holocaust
Adolf Hitler, after being elected in January 30th, 1933, attempted to rescue Germany from it’s economic crisis. He started blaming Jews for all the problems of Germany, this view was popularized due to the book Mein Kampf. By April of 1933, Jews were starting to be banished from Universities, Government jobs, and their shops were boycotted. By 1935, Jews were banned from even more jobs, they were humiliated, and they were banned from certain shops. Over 6 million Jews and other persecuted groups (Homesexuals and Gypsies) were killed and sent to concentration camps. Not only were these peoples killed but they were also tortured before they were killed living for days without food. The end of this massive genocide was due to the Allied powers defeating Hitler and the Nazi party in WWII.
